Dear blog,
Time flies real quick. It is now the second week of my semester vacation. This second week is also about to end in no time at all. Things have been going smoothly for me and it has been several days since I last blogged. I miss you so much.
This holiday of mine is getting more fruitful in my own opinion. In fact, there are lots of things to do for me, but yet, so little time. During this period of vacation, I rented a set of historical chinese serial to entertain myself. And since I have not completed watching this series last year, I shall watch it all over again.

汉武大帝.. that's the simplified chinese title for this show. And I am currently enjoying it. For more information about this series, click
here.
I shall rate it 4 out of 5 stars for content and storyline. It's rather detailed, and it is a great historical testimony to show the world that the Chinese are also indeed a superior race of people. It was through the currents of history and through its imperial decline that causes a widespread cultural plague of pigtails by pigs who invaded the middle kingdom. Hence, westerners should get rid of the idea that the Chinese are just men in pigtails and nothing more.
Besides watching videos and checking out some good ones over youtube and google, I spent my time reading up on some books of my interests. I bought a book by Richard Dawkins, entitled The God Delusion.

This book is indeed full of facts and detailed arguments on why we shouldn't view religion as a reliable source. Rather, we should look unto scientific evidences for reasons and answers.
Faith, no doubt is something which we cannot see, it is nothing more than just blind faith. Because faith is an action of pure blind belief, without doubts, without questioning, without wavering and without stumbling, it is doing the impossible because one is told to do so. How can faith alone be sufficient? Faith and action, we all know, walks hand in hand. Since faith is an action, it is nothing more than asking for more actions to take place besides faith. And in doing things of one's desire takes faith and action, why not put it this way: In doing one's desire, it takes actions and more actions, plus planning, scheduling and basically, seeking for opinions. If you unconsciously or subconsciously believe that it can be done, then why the hesitation? An action, through reasoning and critical thoughts, is done without a serious need to confront one's faith, or rather, blind faith, since one has the desire or passion, or inner confidence that the task shall be fulfilled. If it can be done, it will be done. Religious faith alone is just redundant. I believe setting goals and walking the path of achievement is more essential than constantly relying on blind faith to do the job for you.
This era is supposed to be an age of reason. Without reasoning and discoveries, there is no other reason to live this life. Without them, Science would not have succeeded. We would still be stuck in our 'stone age' technologies and ideologies, whereby there would not be any progress in our society and in the world. Therefore, in order for man to survive, man have to adapt to their surrounding and environment, by constantly changing values, principles, thoughts and belief system. Not only that, man have to rely on reasoning and discoveries in order to improve the standard of living for the survival of their species.
Thus, there is neither right nor wrong in any philosophies or doctrines. Being an Agnostic, I gladly say, that it is what works for you and what works for me. If what I thought was right, it might not be the same for you, and vice versa. An argument against what seems to be the peace of others, is a waste of time and peace. Atheists do have a point in the things they say. But if it still doesn't serve as a wake up call to the religious, then there is no reason to argue any further. Similarly, the religious may put forth thousands of verses from their bronze-age scriptures, but if it still doesn't touch the hearts of the Atheists, non-believers, or sceptics, then something is probably wrong with what they are doing - their style, their speech, their behaviors or their semi-proven doctrines.
There is nothing more I could say because this argument will go on and on and will never cease till the end of time. However, I'm constantly reading up books by Bertrand Russell, Richard Dawkins and perhaps later, Mary Midgley.. to unravel the core of their arguments against religious dogma.
I'm going to have lots of time gaining knowledge during the holidays. HAHAHA... as what "Bookworm" company once taught us during my primary school days - READING IS..... FUN!!!!!
I'll never forget that.
