It's been quite some time since I last blogged. Not that I'm lazy, or having writer's block or got myself murdered whatsoever. It's just that I've been busy working and not only that, doing some planning for my coming matriculation.
Oh yea, just in case anyone of you guys don't know, I've accepted an offer from Monash University Australia to further my studies this year. My semester will be starting in the middle of next month. The course I'm studying - Bachelor of Arts in Psychology & Humanities. I'll be taking two majors for this course of my choice. One's Psychology, and the other Mass Communication. I've always wanted to take Mass Comm during my study years in the local polytechnic, but all they look for was The Grade for my 'O' Level English Language, which I don't think fits their criteria.
Stupid Singaporean Polytechnics!Right now, I'm glad a foreign university agrees to take me in. Just like how Singapore agrees to take any foreign talent into the country. Sheesh...! No wonder non-academically talented people like us from Singapore are leaving our land for good. 'Cos Singapore only takes in foreign talents and regard locals as secondary choice. Disagree with me? Prove your point then.
And what about those JC students who stand a higher chance of gaining acceptance from these local universities, while they reject most polytechnic students who desperately or sincerely want to further their studies? C'mon, if there's not enough space in the uni, go expand it by a few more acres, rather than screwing those taxes on stupid upgrades of housings and old folk's home. Sheesh..! What's your excuse again dudes? Too many JC students? Too many foreign students? Eat my crap.
Everywhere I go, it seems like PRCs are everywhere, as if Singapore lacks the number of Chinese population. And worse, I see white people everywhere, as if they need to brighten up this place a little with their skins.
It's kinda hard making a comfortable living here in this miserable island. Everything is challenging - mentally, socially, emotionally, physically and financially. I'm not being pessimistic, but pragmatic in a way that this place is no longer the old fishing town our fathers used to make a living in. It has become a congested piece of reclaimed territory, polluted with a strong stench of stinky mindsets and attitude, where some wish that elitists weren't born.
That said, it's important to cherish our opportunity to be educated as this can place ourselves in any society to be recognized and relied upon. And it took me so many years before realising that I just can't run away from education itself, because without it, I'm a nobody. Thank God for this chance for me to further my studies and be somebody in the near future.
And as for those local universities
AND MOE, argh.. you people can just come suck my dick.
