Indeed.. I'm feeling sick right now. I guess I've overstrained myself a little during my exercise regime. So I've decided to take a short break of a week or two to recooperate my strength and energy. Meanwhile, I'll still be working.
Work sucks. Who can deny this further? I'd be the last to. And right now, loads are getting heavier at work. And next week, I'll be put into multi-tasking situations.. which, I'm never the type of guy who can do two tasks at one time. Neither can I pee and shit all at the same time, unless it's diarrhoea.
Anyway.. I just went for a teaching seminar hosted by the NIE to see what's install for teaching as a career. It's pretty enriching for me I would say although I already, somewhat, knew about the criterias and expectations of what it takes in being a teacher. It's really exciting and it got me excited too. So, I'd probably give it a shot again next year if my application didn't get through this year, since I just applied and the application for Diploma holders has just closed.
Never mind. There's always time to upgrade myself. What's really amusing about this seminar is there're hundreds of people of different backgrounds and personalities.
What shocked me was when the lady in front of me suddenly spoke into her phone loudly when it rang. I mean, give us all a break man, if you need to talk, go outside and stop whining over the phone so loud! She's disturbing our attention on the speaker. That's so rude!
Furthermore, when it comes to the Question & Answer session, that lady was the first to ask her questions. And it was a stupid question. And that's not all, she kept walking to the microphone but her regular attempts failed. C'mon, give others a chance to ask their questions man.
Let me see.. what else this wierdo did. Oh yeah, and her handphone isn't switched off. How rude and inconsiderate! And for this type of people to become teachers is a REAL disgrace and embarrassment to the nation. I hope she gets rejected man, if not, I'm going on strike.
Shucks! How unfair meritocracy is, that sometimes nerds get the upper hand and the talented & passionate ones with mediocre grades are second out.
I can't imagine nerds wearing two bars on his shoulders fighting a war in future. Neither can I imagine nerds being professors in universities specializing in sleeperology lessons; nor nerds planning tourist attractions and closing them down one by one.. (where's tang dynasty? where's Haw Par Villa? where's Jurong Crocodile Farm?) Never mind about them though, they aren't as interesting either. I guess it's time to let those talented people prove their worth, rather than judging on their grades!
Talking about tourist attractions, they've to be exciting and interesting, letting people, even the locals going back for more. Not places like pathetic Orchard Road, Suntec City, or Raffles Place. Those are nothing but shops and there's no point going there unless there're something to buy. Other than going to those places, there're sports to play such as football, basketball, snooker, bowling, hockey.. etc. Well those are good but don't you get sick of it after a while?
The problem with this miserable island is that there're absolutely NOTHING we can do except sports and recreations. I don't know man. But this is just my opinion so far. If there're anybody who has any ideas on doing anything interesting here in Singapore, please drop me an
E-mail. And do not forget to tell me a bit of yourself. Thanks.
Back to topic. Yea.. nerds. I hate nerds. I've never seen anyone of them sweeping the roads before. So if you've seen one, please E-mail me as well to rebuke me of my ignorance. Thank you very much. Otherwise, I would like to speak up for all the talented people around. You guys are great! Better than the acedemically brilliant nerds. Of course, that'll still depend on each of our personality and the way we carry ourselves.
I'm still in the middle of my journey in discovering my potentials and talents. I've found some though, but I'm not satisfied. I believe there's more that I can do to unleash myself to my maximum. Thank God for a wonderful girlfriend who sees the potentials in me and believes in me. This really gives me the courage and strength to pursue my purpose.
